Red Star Line Museum
Between 1873 and 1935, Antwerp was the gateway to a better life for more than two million people in America. The Red Star Line took them from Antwerp to New York. The museum of the same name tells the story of these emigrants and asks what this history means today. Migration and human mobility are of all times: millions of people from all over the world left (and leave) what is familiar behind, to look elsewhere for a new future. The "Destination Sweetheart" exhibition will run until September 26, 2021, an exhibition about heartwarming but also confrontational stories, supplemented with letters, interviews and personal objects from the Red Star Line period.
