War Memorial Wijnegem
The Wijnegem war memorial is located opposite the municipal cemetery and at the entrance of the Wijnegemhof municipal park, dating from 1921 and designed by Floris de Cuijper and Arthur Smet.
The war memorial is also part of the Kempen route, which takes you 203 kilometers from Maasmechelen to Antwerp, past forests, heathland and industrial heritage. You will cycle through iconic landscapes such as the Kempense Meren, but also along lesser-known highlights such as the Antitankgracht.
There is also a lot of water along the way, ranging from the Kleine Nete to the swimming pond of De Hoge Rielen and De Lilse Bergen.
