Local products
Bilzen is proud of its regional products. These are made with a lot of love, tradition and fresh ingredients.
The Bilzerse Mikkemannen (sweet rolls in the shape of a man) are even so popular that they were officially recognized as a Flemish regional product
Rooted in Hesbaye, fruit is an indispensable ingredient. For example, the Biesonder apple juice is made with apples from the largest public standard orchard in Flanders. They are grown with care in the Grand Commandery of Alden Biesen. They are also unsprayed, so "pure nature". The Biesondere Stroop is also made from that standard fruit.
There is nothing better than a fresh golden blond beer. Heer van Biesen is the official city beer of Bilzen and won the silver medal at the World Beer Awards in 2015.
