MIMA Brussels
The MIMA is located on the remarkable site of the former Belle-Vue brewery, located on the canal in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. It is completely devoted to contemporary, preferably highly topical art. Today, artists communicate directly with the public, without any form of mediation. The internet has reshaped our society, giving subcultures a more accessible outlet as well. Urban art has meanwhile grown into a solid art movement and a mouthpiece for the typically heterogeneous cosmopolitan culture.
MIMA is a museum with an international appeal that presents contemporary, accessible and viral creations such as Street Art. Using the work of Parra, Swoon, Faile, Todd James and a series of temporary exhibitions, MIMA tells the story of Culture 2.0. You can also go there for meetings, projections, concerts, performances and a permanent collection.
MIMA also houses a shop, a restaurant and two panoramic viewpoints over the canal and over Brussels, all in a beautiful building spread over four floors.
