Cathedral of Our Lady Antwerp
After 169 years of construction (1352-1521), the cathedral rose above Antwerp with a height of 123 meters. It is the largest Gothic building in the Netherlands. The cathedral is an enormous treasure trove with various works of art by Rubens, among others. After twenty years of restoration, the seven-aisled church shines again in all its architectural splendor. Eye-catchers are certainly Rubens' “Establishment of the Cross” and “Descent from the Cross”. A visit to Antwerp without seeing the cathedral is unthinkable.
