It is clear that the people of Maasmechelen are proud of their history. All the old miner's buildings are still as beautiful as they used to be. For example, the old director's building on the mining site is now a luxurious hotel. The old bathrooms in the building next to the hotel were also given a real metamorphosis. As a child I wanted to be a pilot. But as I grew up I became fascinated with Mom's cooking. In 1973 she started the 'Ristorante Da Lidia' with dad. People came from far and wide to taste the dishes of the cucina Marchigiana. And I got to help... But I'm back. Together with my ravishing wife ceramist Maddalena Pantano and with Francesca and Gianmarco, the third generation, we present our new restaurant in Maasmechelen. We put our heart and soul into it and all the delights of the Marche. With us you can taste a piece of Italian heaven.
