City Museum Lokeren
In the City Museum of Lokeren you go not one, but two centuries back in time. Here you can immerse yourself in the history of Lokeren in an interactive way. You forget for a moment in which century you are yourself. The most important piece of Lokeren history is also the dirtiest: learn all about how they repaired rabbit and hare skins here in the 20th century into felt hair for hat manufacture. It was certainly a dirty job, but it did ensure that Lokeren was the world center for this production. Afterwards, pass by the National Butcher's Museum and find out everything about the Lokerse specialty: horse sausages.
