Brussels Comic Strip Museum
The Comic Strip Museum is an absolute “must” in the heart of the city. For more than 25 years, the museum has focused on the authors and heroes of the Ninth Art, such as Tintin and the Smurfs.
On the basis of permanent exhibitions – which are regularly renewed – and a varied program of temporary exhibitions, visitors can become acquainted with the many facets of the comic strip.
There are currently three temporary exhibitions, each focusing in its own way on contemporary comics. The first takes visitors into the world of Midam, the author of the humorous series Kid Paddie and Game Over. The second, the “United Comics of Belgium” exhibition, offers a colorful panorama of comic book creation in 2020.
Finally, “In the head of Charel Cambré” you will be taken on a journey through the oeuvre of the winner of the Bronze Adhemar 2020. The Comics Museum is synonymous with both a tribute to the pioneers of the medium and a look at contemporary comic strips. The exceptional Art Nouveau building by Victor Horta gives the whole an extra dimension, and is almost worth a visit in itself.
