Expo Crazy by Dimpna
The monumental Dimpna altarpiece by Goossen van der Weyden (1505) is coming to Geel thanks to the international expo of The Phoebus Foundation by Fernand Huts.
You can discover the secrets behind the layers of paint and get acquainted with the extraordinary world of van der Weyden.
The Phoebus Foundation subjected the panels to an extensive restoration project lasting more than three years. The end result is astonishing, as are the discoveries made during the process.
The exhibition tells you about previous layers, color differences and the masterwork of van der Weyden. It is recommended to visit the exhibition in combination with a visit to Dimpna Verbeeldt in the Gasthuismuseum.
The Expo Zot of Dimpna runs from April 1 to August 31, 2022, from Tuesday to Sunday between 11 am and 6 pm. The entrance is free. A guided tour for groups, subject to reservation and in combination with a visit to the Gasthuismuseum, costs 3€ per person, and 50€ for the guide.
