In the center of Torhout, hostess Michèlle Tanghe and chef Jan Devos provide a warm welcome. In keeping with the spirit of the times, the chef prefers local products, works with a charcoal oven and loves fermentation techniques. He easily combines fried cauliflower and endive with whey with gray shrimp. Leek, extra flavored in the charcoal oven, together with romesco and fennel flour, forms a refined garnish with sting rays with beurre blanc and capers. Finally, raspberry and beetroot go harmoniously with goat's milk and basil curd cheese.

For more than 12 years, Benedicte and Patrick have been serving their customers with delicious meals in a cozy setting. During the summer months it is pleasant to dine on the attractive terrace. You sit at the pond and enjoy the rural view. The centrally located fireplace provides atmospheric evenings. A short history In 1866, two farm houses were converted into one house. The farmhouse of six bays consists of one storey under a saddle roof with three stepped roof windows. The old brick road chapel with a latticed niche on the street side was rebuilt. Within the brasserie there are still traces of the old interior, which was adapted for the new bistro design. In 2010 an extension with a sunny veranda was realized.
