Franco Belge
Young, talented and brimming with enthusiasm. You can't describe Dries Cracco and Tomas Puype more typical. The two chefs met ten years ago at the Ter Groene Poorte cooking school in Bruges. Their shared passion for the profession, their predilection for refined, genuine cuisine (including classic and world cuisine) created a strong bond. After their studies, both followed their own path as cooks in various star restaurants. Tomas earned his spurs in Auberge De Herborist in Bruges, Jardin in Knokke, A'qi in Bruges and Sans Cravate in Bruges. Dries was at the stove in Restaurant Jardin in Knokke, l'Esco in Wetteren and Boury in Roeselare. Meanwhile, their dream grew to run a kitchen together where they could develop their vision of cooking. In 2016, this dream took shape: restaurant Franco Belge was born. Franco Belge is the place to be for lovers of traditional French-Belgian cuisine with a contemporary touch. This is also reflected in the unique setting of the restaurant, which elegantly interweaves the authenticity of Old Bruges with a tasteful, trendy sleekness.
