In 2011, owners Tom & Helga moved to Westende to open a small hotel. Pampering people is completely their thing and although it was a small hotel, they always made it an honor to have the essentials perfectly in order and to only work with the best culinary products. Yet after a few years it was time for a new challenge, and with Alice Gastronomia they have found a business that suits them perfectly! As a child I wanted to be a pilot. But as I grew up I became fascinated with Mom's cooking. In 1973 she started the 'Ristorante Da Lidia' with dad. People came from far and wide to taste the dishes of the cucina Marchigiana. And I got to help... But I'm back. Together with my ravishing wife ceramist Maddalena Pantano and with Francesca and Gianmarco, the third generation, we present our new restaurant in Maasmechelen. We put our heart and soul into it and all the delights of the Marche. With us you can taste a piece of Italian heaven.

La Bella Italia
The brand new Italian restaurant La Bella Italia will open this month in the protected monument Huis Van den Berghe on the Grote Markt. “Great food, two top Italian chefs and excellent service”, promises new manager Anmol Chapagai, who, together with his sister, also runs the Indian-Nepalese restaurant Namaste right next door.
Bazalia
Above the Hofke van Bazel, his charming Italian sister is courting you. She does this with her romantic decor, graceful service and authentic cuisine. The prima donnas are products from Puglia that shine in carefully prepared dishes. Nice plus: there is always a vegetarian option in the menu.

Welcome to Il Sapore enoteca e bistrot. We spoil our guests with no-nonsense dishes where the pure taste of the product is central. Only the best products are selected and we guarantee freshness and quality. We have deliberately chosen to serve both Italian and French dishes, as we want to be a place where everyone can go. The wine list is purely Italian, due to the great predilection for Italian wines and the varied selection of these wines. In our wine bar you can start the evening with an extensive aperitif or end it with a cozy coffee.
Miel Van Kest
From about 1950 to 1965 there was a cafe in the Schrieksebaan in Tremelo. It was called 'At Miel Van Kest'. Now, more than 50 years later, Brasserie Miel Van Kest exists again, and in roughly the same industry. The business was set up according to the principle of re-use, re-build and re-cycle. A seed trade and a pharmacy from Poland were incorporated into the interior. Mirrors, glassware, wall coverings, heating elements... are recycled materials one by one. Nostalgia is all that matters. Dozens and dozens of old photos in appropriate frames adorn the walls of the brasserie. The visitor soon gets a picture of Tremelo anno 1930-1960. Brass bands, majorettes, football players, cyclists, cards, notables who were known by name and by name by everyone at the time, show themselves from their best side.
