Genk
Genk is a city with a rich industrial past, mainly founded on the former mining industry. You can still find remnants of that in surprising ways. The undisputed highlight is the C-mine site, a creative hotspot located on a unique industrial mining heritage site.
Furthermore, Genk has a strong multicultural character with a pronounced religious diversity - here you can observe different religious buildings mixed together. Fancy an even deeper dive into the past? Then you should visit the Bokrijk open-air museum and be sure to pass by the (still working!) trip mill on the Stiemerbeek.
