BUGGENHOUT
Buggenhout is the center of Flanders and is often forgotten. However, next time you should make a stop here, you won't regret it. Especially not when you sink your teeth into Buggenhout's delicacy: the Bosschijntje. Expect a biscuit cake with knokkebos - a kind of blueberry from the Buggenhout forest - and a thin layer of marzipan with a drawing of the Boskapel on it. It can't get any more bugged! The Boskapel is also worth a visit. This five-hundred-year-old chapel serves as a memorial to Jan de Rijcke, who died tragically in the forest. Keep your eyes open during the forest walk, you might spot a cute Gallaway cow.
